Bill’s Background & Experience
Bill Tanzey, Bible teacher, speaker and counselor, has pastored at churches in the Charleston area for over 20 years. An innovator in church-based counseling in the Charleston Metro area, Dr. Bill believes that the Christian community is called to offer quality counseling for hurting people.
Dr. Bill has earned graduate degrees from West Virginia University in Counseling, and The Masters School of Divinity, where he was awarded a Doctorate of Biblical Studies. Pastor Tanzey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of WV.
In 2016 Bill authored the book, “When God Sings”, published by Xulon Press; a book based on the breathtaking truth of God singing over His own.
Bill says, “For too long, the stigma of interpersonal problems prevented many from seeking counseling. Yet in recent years the Christian community has helped overcome that barrier by being a dependable resource for valuable counseling that is aimed at assisting others to regain their steadiness in life. Having a resource in the heart of downtown Charleston, at Resurrection Church, equipped by qualified therapists, is a major step in the right direction.”
Bill is married to his best friend and high school sweetheart, Dukey, and resides in Charleston, WV.
Ted Tanzey
Pastor Ted has been a professional counselor for over 27 years, specializing in relationship, grief, rehabiliation and life counseling.
Ted’s Background & Experience
Ted Tanzey, counselor, life coach, and mediator has pastored churches in the Charleston area for over 16 years and has been involved in ministry since 1992. Pastor Ted has been actively involved in church planting in the Kanawha Valley and aiding church plants in Eastern Europe. Since 2007, Pastor Ted has lead 24 International mission trips. 22 of those trips were in the former Soviet bloc countries of Eastern Europe.
Ted has been a professional counselor for over 25 years. He’s a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Qualified Rehabilitation Professional. Ted is a graduate of both West Virginia University and Marshall University with a Masters Degree in Counseling and specializes in relationship, marriage, addiction, grief, rehabilitation and life counseling.
Pastor Ted has a passion of coming alongside someone and helping navigate them through the difficulties of life. Ted says, “It’s been said that the universal language is pain and suffering. Sometimes this pain and suffering of life can be hard to bear. We all need an objective point of view that can help guide us through these life difficulties”.
Ted and his wife Beth have been married for 27 years. Ted and Beth have three children: Officer William M. Tanzey (Wife Megan) of the South Charleston Police Department, Leanna Tanzey 18, and Jayden Tanzey 7. The Tanzey’s reside in South Charleston West Virginia.
